Print Sundays

Awenek Studio, monthly 2021-2023

I run small monthly workshops for adults on the last Sunday of every month at Awenek Studio at Maker Heights in Cornwall.

Topics include a variety of printmaking techniques featuring, but not limited to, linocut, drypoint, and collagraph, as well as drawing and fabric painting. I have a portable printing
set-up that can be brought to any venue so please contact me if you're interested in hosting one yourself.

Drawing Bored

Various, 2020-2023

In Autumn 2020, a summer of Covid lockdown had fried what little concentration I had left at my disposal.

I devised the first Drawing Bored workshop at Awenek Studios using the short, fun, drawing exercises that had helped me to do some drawings during this time, using groove-heavy music for motivation and that extra driving dopamine hit.

As more lockdowns ensued we found a new home on Zoom, allowing people from all locations to join in with the fun from the comfort of their pyjamas.

Drawing Bored is for anyone who draws, but who doesn't do it enough, or anyone who doesn't draw, but would like to try. It is a workshop of timed drawing exercises to music, and the perfect stress-free, silly, grab-a-drink-and-a-pen opportunity to scribble and giggle. Over the year and a half we ran on Zoom, I think it's fair to say everyone had a bloody good time (if they didn't, they weren't telling me) doing some drawings they wouldn't have otherwise tried.

In 2022, Drawing Bored returned to the world beyond the computer screen, with a series of sessions at Garrison Gallery at Maker Heights, with wonderful cocktails to accompany the music and scribbling.

Though no longer run in entirety, the workshop now exists as part of the newer sketching and creative workshops I run, including "Ready Steady Draw" on P&O cruises. It is the fun, encouraging accompaniment to the heavier technical content.
